I had a good 4 hour trip. Caught a large rooster fish as well as a few smaller ones and a few that broke the 40 lb leader. Caught several Cerro Mackerel as well. I fished with Isaak who knew exactly where the fish were without spending a lot of time on a boat ride. If fly fishing, bring your own gear. I highly recommend this service and one of the best value guide service in Cabo.

Thank you so much for your kind review. We’re very happy to hear you had a great 4-hour trip and enjoyed some exciting action with roosterfish and Sierra mackerel. Isaak will be glad to hear your words. He knows these waters very well and always works hard to get our guests on the fish without wasting valuable fishing time. Thank you as well for mentioning the fly fishing tip. Bringing your own fly gear is definitely the best option for anglers who want that experience. We truly appreciate your recommendation and your trust in us. It means a lot to us to be considered one of the best-value guide services in Cabo. We hope to fish with you again soon.

Our trip with Daliken Sportfishing started on a confusing note in the morning. We booked a larger boat for 4 people, the 26ft Super Panga. We had't fished on one before and paid extra to book it. When we arrived, Fillipe' took us to our captn and he led us to our boat. I asked the captain why we were on a 21' robalo instead of the bigger boat that we paid for. However, Francisco could not speak any English and did not understand. We bought bait for the boat online when booking. I assumed that this was bonito and other fish types for marlin and mahi and etc...and we went and followed several small boats as they netted minnows. We got a few scoops and we were off. We started trolling with one rod w bonito and two rods with plastic squids. The bonito took a hit but did not hook up to stay on. Fransisco baited up with another bonito. I looked in the bait cooler and there was no more bonito or large bait for fishing. Just two! For four fishers!!! Two baits!!! Luckily, minutes later, a mahi hooked up and we boated it! However there was no more bait other than the minnows for others to catch a fish like this. Ugh! 30 dollars for bait for the boat! If you go, please be sure to have direct contact with Jamie the owner to be sure that you know exactly what you are getting! We were frustrated for sure! We trolled the rest of the way to the fishing grounds where the other boats were with 2 plastic squid on two trolling rods in tow. We caught two little skipjacks on the way. We asked if they'd be used for bait and he said yes. But that didn't happen. We used trolling rods and dropped live minnows on loose lines for tuna I guess. I had the only weighted outfit to get to the bottom. I caught three small fish right away and then I hooked something larger. After a tussle, the captain pulled my rod up in the air and broke the line.??? Anyway, there was no more leader material or sinker that size so he took a heavy poundage kinky leader off another trolling rod and thats what we used. Didn't catch another fish on that rig the rest of our time. We did end up catching 3 yellow fin, a small rock fishn and a snapper. And we rescued a tortoise floating on the surface wrapped up in a net! Way to Go, Captn Fransisco! The trip would have been much more enjoyable had we had some communication. Why were we on this little boat w minimal bait, and big trolling gear vs casting and spinning rods and different tactics like the website suggests. We saw other boats using spinning gear and fly rods and light tackle, but not us. We didn't even have enough rods for all four of us to use! I tried contacting the owner that morning from the boat with no answer or explanation from the text or email. Our fish were swept away as soon as we got back to the dock. We tipped the captn very well! Everything was hurry hurry and confusing once again. Different people doing different things. Grabbing our bags, coolers, fish, garbage etc... It was our first time chartering from San Jose Del Cabo Marina. I now see that this is how they operate. Quickly and efficiently. But at first we were just in disbelief. They hung our fish for pictures and then off to the fillet tables we went with another gent. The language barrier was difficult. I'll definitely work this year to learn more Spanish to be able to communicate!!! A guy fileted our fish and we asked for it to be vacuum packed and frozen. It was and they delivered it to the hotel. Well done! A few days later I was contacted to please leave a review. We were still reeling from the experience and confusion. I wanted to talk to the owner first before leaving a review! I emailed back and explained our trip and dismay. He was very apologetic! He explained that the boat we had booked did not start that morning! They rented the one we were on so that we could go out that day. No one told us that. That would explain why there was no tackle other than what the captain brought in a small back pack. Or why the rods were old and missing eyes and inserts in eyes. Or why there were no electronics on the boat! He assured me that if we came back next spring that he would take us out and ensure that we had a better experience. He did answer all of my questions. I run a charter in the states as well... and i known it's all about communication, expectations and relationships! After our conversation, albeit a week after our trip, I would go back to Daliken Sportfishing. We caught fish when others struggled. However, before our trip, l will have personal contact with Jamie before we go! We will know exactly what we are fishing for, fishing with, from what boat, and with what and how many baits. I'm not knocking our experience! I only described our day honestly and accurately for others to know what to expect. We caught fish, saw so many whales, and enjoyed ourselves, because its what we do! But the website we saw, the boat we booked, and the bait we thought we purchased, were all different once we arrived at the marina!!! But heay, at least we were in the sun, on the water, and in one of the most beautiful places one Earth! What's not to enjoy! Peace and Tite Lines!

Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and honest review. First of all, I truly want to apologize for the confusion and frustration you experienced that morning. You are absolutely right that communication, expectations, and trust are everything in this business, and in your case, we did not handle that part the way we should have. The biggest mistake on our side was not clearly informing you before departure that the original 26ft Super Panga was unavailable that morning and that we arranged another boat so your trip could still happen instead of canceling your day on the water. Our intention was to make sure you still got to fish, but we understand that this should have been explained clearly and immediately, especially when you had specifically chosen and paid for a larger boat for your group. I also understand your concerns about the bait, tackle, and overall setup compared to what you expected from the trip description. When expectations are set one way online and the experience feels different at the dock, that creates disappointment, and I take responsibility for that. Even though you still caught fish, saw whales, and made the best of the day, that does not erase the confusion you felt. At the same time, I truly appreciate the fairness in your review. You shared both the difficult parts and the positive ones, and that means a lot. I am glad Captain Francisco helped rescue the turtle, that your fish were properly processed and delivered, and that despite everything, your group still found a way to enjoy the day. I also appreciate that you gave me the opportunity to explain things directly afterward. As an owner, I take feedback like this seriously because it helps us improve. We always want our guests to know exactly what boat they are getting, what style of fishing to expect, what bait and tackle will be used, and how the morning will flow at the marina. Your review is a strong reminder of how important that is. Thank you again for your honesty, your understanding, and for being willing to fish with us again in the future. We would be honored to welcome you back next spring and give you the experience you originally expected from the start. Tight lines, Jamie Daliken Sportfishing

Thoroughly enjoyed the fishing, had a couple issues with the overall experience but the communication through booking and about my concerns were very prompt, thorough and satisfactory. While I wouldn’t book the same trip I would use them again for another outing on a smaller boat and different crew.

Thank you for the feedback and for fishing with us. We’re really glad you enjoyed the time on the water, and we truly appreciate you letting us know about the issues you experienced. We take service and overall experience seriously, so your comments help us improve. I’m also happy to hear our communication during booking and while addressing your concerns was prompt and satisfactory. If you decide to join us again, we’d love to recommend a smaller boat option with a different crew that better matches the style of trip you’re looking for. Please feel free to message us directly with your preferred dates and what you’d like to do, and we’ll make sure it’s the right fit. Thank you again, and we hope to fish with you again soon.

Hollywood took great care of us. We trolled some ballyhoo and got short bit twice. Ended with some grouper. Great times on a 4hr trip. If my son was older I would have done the 6 hour trip. Captain Hollywood knows these waters and if we had more time we would have filled the hold with wahoo!!
By Drew H for 23 ft Super Panga – Arca (with toilet) on Feb 21, 2026
Thank you so much for your kind words and for fishing with Captain Hollywood! He truly knows these waters and always works hard to put our guests in the best possible position for success. Even on a 4-hour trip, getting bites on ballyhoo and landing grouper is a great experience, and we’re glad you had a great time out there. You’re absolutely right — with a 6-hour trip, we’re able to reach more productive areas and target species like wahoo, tuna, dorado, and more, especially when conditions are right. We hope to welcome you and your son back in the future for a longer trip so you can experience the full offshore action. Thank you again for choosing Daliken Sportfishing!

Thecaptain and crew were fantastic! They worked really hard to get us some tuna. The crew made some of the best sashimi on board that I’ve ever had!
By Jonathan H for Boat 35ft Kokopelly on Feb 12, 2026
Thank you very much for your great review! Our captain and crew always give their best effort to put our guests on the fish, and we’re glad to hear their hard work paid off with tuna. That’s what makes these trips truly special. Fresh sashimi on board is one of the highlights of the experience it doesn’t get any fresher than enjoying your catch right on the ocean. We’re happy you were able to enjoy that moment. It was a pleasure fishing with you, and we hope to welcome you back again soon for another unforgettable day on the water with Daliken Sportfishing.

We had an incredible fishing trip in San José del Cabo with Daliken Sportfishing and caught several dorado (mahi-mahi). From start to finish, everything was professional and well organized. One of the best parts is that they are the actual owners of the boats, not resellers, so the prices are very competitive and fair for the quality of service you get. The captain worked hard to put us on the fish and made sure everyone had a great time. If you’re looking for a reliable, honest, and top-quality fishing charter in San José del Cabo, Daliken Sportfishing is an excellent choice. We will definitely book with them again on our next trip!
